Robie brings extraordinary experience to his position. He began his professional career with the Minneapolis YMCA, moving to increasingly more responsible positions. His final post with the YMCA was as Senior Vice President of the Association.

He joined Campaign Associates, a division of the YMCA of the USA. The group had an extraordinary experience with YMCAs. It had conducted over 2000 fundraising campaigns in its history. He headed that division during some of its most important years.

Robie left the YMCA of the USA to start his own firm. It was called Campaign Consultants of America. It became an immediate success. In ten years, it served over 300 institutions for their capital and endowment needs. The group included a wide variety of organizations in social services, healthcare, education, and churches and synagogues.

During this period, he also founded the highly regarded Capital Campaign Institute. It assists organizations to more effectively conduct capital campaigns. Hundreds of staff and volunteers have gone through the training.
